Driving Progress: McDonald's Participates in Climate Pledge

McDonald’s White House American Business Act on Climate Pledge outlines our continued commitment to managing our carbon footprint. Working with our suppliers, we aim to eliminate deforestation and to support sustainable beef, palm oil, fiber for packaging and coffee. In collaboration with McDonald’s independent franchisees, we’re striving to reduce the carbon footprint of restaurant operations by enhancing energy efficiency, enabling renewable energy sourcing, minimizing waste and increasing recycling in McDonald’s restaurants.

Our pledge supports our aspiration to source all of our food and packaging sustainably and to design and operate the most environmentally-efficient McDonald’s restaurants. It also reinforces our belief that tackling challenges like climate change begins with partnership – after all, we’re all on the same team when it comes to taking care of the planet. Already, over the last few decades, we’ve collaborated with some 25 organizations to create lasting change.
