McDonald’s USA started rolling out fresh beef in quarter-pound burgers in 2018, a result of listening to our customers and our commitment to bring them more cravable and delicious food offerings.
One year later, U.S. customers clearly like what they see. The launch of fresh beef quarter-pound burgers and the promotions featuring them resulted in McDonald’s USA selling 40 million more quarter-pound burgers in Q1 2019 compared to Q1 2018.
The introduction of fresh beef is just one step in McDonald’s USA’s continuous journey to implement meaningful changes across our menu—changes that we know are important to our customers, our franchisees, our people and our planet – including our commitments to coffee sustainability, cage-free eggs and evolving our iconic Happy Meal.
When it comes to our burgers, McDonald’s USA also removed artificial preservatives from our real American Cheese, Big Mac® Special Sauce, the regular Bun, Quarter Pounder Bun and Big Mac Bun in our seven Classic Burgers.
