January 25, 2013

Have you ever wondered what types of food you can eat at a McDonald’s in France? How about in Turkey, India or Japan? Luckily, The Travel Channel asked the same questions & set out on a quest to sink their teeth into what McDonald’s serves in its restaurants around the world by filming a five-episode series “Fast Foods Gone Global.”

During their worldwide, whirlwind tour of McDonald’s, the Travel Channel visited restaurants in 21 countries across the world. Stops along the way included Latin America (Brazil, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Nicaragua and Mexico), Europe (Sweden, Russia, Czech Republic, France, Spain and Germany), and Africa, the Middle East and Asia (South Africa, Dubai, Jordan, Turkey, Israel, India, Thailand, Japan & Hong Kong). They also stopped by McDonald’s corporate headquarters to meet with McDonald’s global menu guru Chris Young, and check out the test kitchens and taste panels that help McDonald’s menu masters create customers’ favorite menu items of tomorrow. During the visit, Young gave viewers the scoop on how McDonald’s creates menus that are relevant and resonate with customers in all 34,000 McDonald’s restaurants in 119 countries worldwide.
