A Look at How Our Global DEI Strategy has Come to Life in 2021
December 08, 2021
Inclusion has always been central to who we are. Our founders built McDonald’s to be a place of opportunity—where owner/operators could build successful businesses, employees could launch rewarding careers, suppliers could find their goods on tables around the world, and anyone, anywhere, could get a delicious meal and a reliably great experience. We recognize our important responsibility to act, and we’re on a journey to use our scale and influence to create equitable opportunity in every community we serve.
Today, we’re doing this across all three legs of the stool:
Diversity Snapshot
As we re-imagine our global diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) commitment, we identified an opportunity to evolve our data collection processes across the organization to further support our DEI strategy. Since 2020, we have made progress and continue to enhance our processes for collecting data and reporting.
As the Company continues its journey of accountability and transparency, we're publishing our data on employee, Board and Franchisee representation and supplier diversity through a Diversity Snapshot. We know our actions are even more powerful when they are underpinned by clearly measuring and transparently reporting our progress, which is why we plan to publish this data annually and continue to enhance our data collection processes.
