Celebrating Myra Doria
February 03, 2026
The following message was sent to the McDonald's USA System from Joe Erlinger.
There are few in the McDonald’s System who can say they have had as great an impact on our people and restaurants as Myra Doria. Over the course of an incredible 40-year tenure with McDonald’s she has touched countless lives, from the first restaurant she worked in to her role today as National Field President. Now, she has made the well-earned decision to retire from McDonald’s in June 2026.
Since her start as a manager trainee in Mabalacat City, Philippines in 1985, Myra has held roles of increasing responsibility in restaurants and across the U.S. System. Every role she’s had with the System has directly impacted and evolved our people and restaurants – Vice President & General Manager of McOpCo’s West Division, General Manager of the Indianapolis and Rocky Mountain Regions, Field Vice President of Atlanta and Denver, U.S. East Zone President, and now National Field President. Myra’s restaurant experience directly shaped her leadership principles and the legacy she would leave across 40 years: a legacy of developing and fostering talent at all levels, of a strategic approach to franchising, and of continuous impact-driven performance. I have been proud to be both a peer and manager to Myra over her career.
Myra’s deep passion for talent development is unmatched. There are countless leaders that she has identified, developed, and placed into significant roles where they will continue to grow. This has been true throughout her career, and at every level of the organization. I have been an eyewitness to this over the past six years where she has built an incredible bench of talent, placing leaders into many of our largest markets internationally and across the U.S. business. As I have traveled the country and visited restaurants with her, it is simply remarkable how many people are proud to say, “I once worked for Myra.”
Myra understands the power of high-performing franchisees and her strategic approach to franchising is unparallelled in our System today. From her expectations of how U.S. Owner/Operators execute in their restaurants, to the mindset she expects from franchisee leadership, she understands the impact that franchising decisions have on the brand, our people, and the communities in which we operate. She has helped numerous franchisees achieve their goals of growth and has played an instrumental role in helping so many to achieve their dream of becoming an Owner/Operator. She built lasting relationships on a foundation of mutual trust and respect across the Owner/Operator community and in each role that she held.
Since her first day in the System, Myra has focused on impact-driven performance and relentless execution by remaining true to herself and her deeply-held values – staying transparent, authentic, and empathetic. In each of her roles, she delivered strong results for the U.S. Business and Owner/Operators. A trailblazer in many rights, Myra broke down organizational silos by creating the ‘One Team McDonald’s USA’ operating model in 2023 as our first National Field President. During her time in this role, she built a strong foundation for the future by aligning the system’s vision and framework to a single organizational structure, while fostering a collaborative mindset through benchmarking and Model BUs.
Throughout her career, Myra has accumulated numerous accolades related to her business results, leadership and commitment to inclusion, including the prestigious President’s Award, the Pat Harris Diversity Award, the Global Leadership Committed to Lead Award and was recently recognized by the Asian American Business Development Center as a Top 50 Outstanding Asian American in Business honoree.
We will announce details on our new National Field President soon. Myra will work alongside her successor to ensure a smooth transition in March in advance of her sabbatical, and will return ahead of Worldwide in Las Vegas where we will celebrate Myra and all her accomplishments. Her last day with the System will be in June 2026.
Please join me as we recognize and celebrate one of our best, thank Myra for her immeasurable impact on the McDonald’s brand and business, and wish her, her husband Erwin, children Denise, Christine, and Erwin John, and granddaughter Cora all the best in retirement.
