We knew McDonald’s franchisees (Owner/Operators) were standing strong for their communities… because they always have. And we’ve been truly overwhelmed with how their response to COVID-19 has made a positive impact during a time when people need it most.

Read on for a handful of the inspirational stories we heard. We couldn’t be prouder to call these franchisees our #McFamily.

They’re looking out for employees and their families.

In Palmdale, CA, Owner/Operators Arlene and Leslie Laddaran are offering crew members McDonald’s vouchers so they can bring meals home to their families after work - an important gesture to let employees focus on family over a delicious meal.

They’re supporting healthcare workers on the front lines.

As a thank you to all those caring for those affected by COVID-19, the Costa Enterprises Owner/Operator in Northwest, FL is offering free combo meals for healthcare workers and collecting medical equipment to help them stay healthy and safe.

Miami Nurse

And Florida Owner/Operators Alex Menendez and Joe Rodriguez are delivering free lunch to local hospitals to keep healthcare heroes fueled up during long shifts.

Parish Medical Center

They’re helping out families while schools are closed.

For children and families in the U.S. who depend on school lunch programs, school closures can have a significant impact. Many Owner/Operators across the country who are offering free meals to children, including Mashoor Awad in North Carolina, Jim Aaron in East Tennessee, Jim Luth, Shawn Saputo, Tony D'Anna and Larry Peters in Michigan, and Eric Wilson in California and many others. These Owner/Operators are offering their customers a sense of normalcy and a comforting, hot meal while kids are unable to attend school during this trying time.

They’re lending support to critical community organizations.

And during times of crisis, local charities are often forgotten. Our franchisees are stepping up and offering support to these important organizations. Sam Lubeznik, an Owner/Operator in LaPorte, Indiana, is partnering with his local Salvation Army to feed those in need with a meal donation for every McDelivery order placed.

Every day, our Owner/Operators are showing up in their community and reminding us that we’re all in it together.

About McDonald’s USA COVID-19 Relief Efforts

McDonald’s always strives be a good neighbor and helping hand in challenging times and we stand together with our communities during this unprecedented pandemic. Our McDonald’s system has rallied in extraordinary ways to help each other, our customers and the neighborhoods we serve. And we remain committed to doing more, which is why we’re supporting truck drivers across America,  donated 400,000 KF94 masks to the State of Illinois emergency operation center and made a $1 Million contribution to the Illinois COVID-19 Response Fund to ensure non-profits in our hometown State have the supplies they need. We know people depend on their local McDonald’s, and we will continue to do our part to help make a positive impact.
