We at McDonald’s care deeply for those sacrificing to keep COVID-19 at bay. We are forever appreciative for those who protected us.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted to express just how grateful we were to the health care workers in Lebanon sacrificing their time and safety to help fight the coronavirus.

"Thank you" can take many forms. We came up with something new: We gave away more than 200 "Golden Cards” to health care workers at the primary hospital treating COVID-19 patients in Lebanon. People with these Golden Cards can eat free McDonald’s meals, and McCafé beverages and pastries, for an entire year.

On May 28, we held a ceremony at the hospital, during which frontline health care staff were awarded the McDonald’s Golden Card. The event featured a popular comedian who delivered a stand-up comedy performance to spread positive vibes and bring laughter and hope to the health care workers, and to the patients, who enjoyed the show from the windows of their hospital rooms.

As part of our #McDonaldsCares campaign, we also wanted to support health care heroes’ families. So, we had more than 1,000 free meals delivered to their doorsteps. Additionally, we donated more than 3,000 meals to emergency service workers who are on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In times like these, we must come together, encourage one another, empathize and extend a helping hand. At McDonald’s Lebanon, we care deeply about our communities and are proud to have played a role in serving them.
