Meet the youngest McDonald’s General Manager in Singapore
August 24, 2020
April L. | General Manager | Singapore
Ever since I was young, I’ve wanted to be a leader. I’m proud to say McDonald’s is helping me achieve that dream.
A few years ago, when I was working as a crew member at a McDonald’s restaurant in Singapore, I was sponsored for a Business Practice diploma. I was eager to earn my diploma, but studying and taking exams as a working adult was very challenging. There were many times I felt like giving up and focusing only on work. In the end, though, the support I received from my mentors and my McDonald’s restaurant helped me achieve my educational goals. When I got my diploma, it was the happiest day of my life.
Joining McDonald’s has been life-changing for me, and I hope to pay it forward.
Now, I’m the youngest General Manager in Singapore, responsible for more than 100 crew members and 10 managers. I’m also working toward becoming a Business Consultant by taking part in the McDonald’s Restaurant Leadership Program.
Joining McDonald’s has been life-changing for me, and I hope to pay it forward by encouraging other restaurant workers to pursue their educations and hone their leadership skills. It’s empowering to have achieved success at a young age, and I want others to know they can do this, too.
