McDonald's Arches

March 11, 2025

We’ve got news.

In a bold move to double down on the best restaurant experience in the industry, McDonald’s has introduced a new Restaurant Experience Team. This exciting development for our business, McFamily, and System will move vision and big ideas to execution, with even greater speed.

The new team will bring together Operations, Supply Chain, Franchising, Development, Restaurant Design, Delivery, and Speedee Labs. Additionally, it will establish three new global Category Management teams focused on beef, chicken, and beverages/desserts.

Why is McDonald’s doing this now?

There’s strong competition within the QSR industry and success is determined by our ability to gain share. In many markets, McDonald’s is competing against specialists. We’re bringing a specialist’s focus into our operations. Setting up dedicated category teams on beef, chicken and beverages/desserts will allow better accountability and execution to win with our core menu.

Why does this matter?

We’re tackling integrated challenges, together, right out of the gate. With menu innovation and more tech initiatives rolling out across our restaurants every single day, this new team will allow us to execute faster – which means we can get great solutions that work for our restaurants into more places with more speed.

Why is this exciting?

Since introducing our Accelerating the Arches growth strategy, we’ve made tremendous progress and are already seeing those benefits. We’ve grown our digital footprint to over 175 million 90-day active users across 60 markets, generating approximately $30 billion in systemwide sales to loyalty members in 2024. We’ve expanded with new restaurants at a faster rate than we have in decades and scaled global menu innovation to hundreds of markets around the world.

Accelerating the Organization is making us sharper and faster, with integrated strategies for shared goals.

With our Restaurant Experience Team, we’re bringing that vision directly into our restaurants. Thinking about creating an exceptional restaurant experience – from our food to our equipment to our operations – through the lens of a restaurant general manager to ensure all of our big ideas are working together.

Looking Ahead to the Future

We have the right leadership with rich and relevant experience, here within the business.  ATO has promised bigger and more challenging roles for development. We’re giving new experiences to proven McDonald’s leaders to excel in the areas that matter most. Our talent pipeline is delivering exceptional results. Evolving our structure like this is good for our leaders and good for the business.
