Fostering Care and Community: How Purvi Naik Runs Her McDonald’s Restaurants
January 03, 2025
Commitment to doing the right thing is about integrity. So it's about making sure that we're doing the right thing to serve fresh, hot, safe food to our customers. It's about doing the right thing for our people. It's about doing the right thing for the business. It's about doing the right thing for the community. It’s about doing the right thing to just to be able to serve quality and freshness every single day to our customers.”
The Road to Becoming a Franchisee
Purvi Naik embarked on her McDonald’s journey in 2010 by enrolling in our franchisee program. This comprehensive program focuses on learning every role in a McDonald’s restaurant, from crew member and maintenance person to shift manager and supervisor. Purvi's dedication and hard work earned her certifications in each of these roles, giving her firsthand experience of what it takes to work in our restaurants.
Shortly after completing the program, Purvi acquired her first restaurant. Today, she proudly owns and operates five McDonald’s stores across Colorado Springs, supported by a team of 280 dedicated crew members.
Leading with Quality, Integrity, and Transparency
Quality, integrity, and transparency are at the heart of how Purvi runs her McDonald’s restaurants: from how she ensures the quality of the food that’s served, to how she looks out for the wellbeing of her hardworking crew.
Serving a great first bite starts with putting care into everything we do. It starts from the moment the trucks arrive with delicious ingredients, when we check the quality. We monitor the ingredients in the fridge and on site. And we make sure everything is done right all the way to when we hand the food to our customers.
“People want to work at our McDonald’s because they feel it’s a family. That’s the culture we like to create,” Purvi said. The culture of care and customer wellbeing that Purvi and her husband strive for in every restaurant is why many of the crew members and managers who started in their first restaurant still work with them today.
Like the 1 in 8 Americans who work at McDonald’s, Purvi’s crew members learn core skills that help them succeed at McDonald’s and beyond. Engaging customers teaches important soft skills, working alongside other crew members teaches important teamwork skills, and turning around orders in the kitchen enables you to deliver at a fast pace – the list goes on.
Caring for the Community
Purvi’s customers are more than just people buying a McDonald’s meal. They’re her neighbors and her friends, people she sees every day. That’s why it’s so important she shows up for them in the community.
When nearby University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) had to shut down campus operations and stop serving food to students due to an unexpected crisis, Purvi and her husband opened their doors, offering to feed students at McDonald’s for free. “We wanted to be there for the university at their time of need. That is showing up for the community,” Purvi said.
Shaping Generations to Come
Many of the crew members that Purvi works with are young adults, including her daughters. “Watching my daughters have their first job was such an incredible experience,” said Purvi. Watching their passion for the business grow has inspired Purvi and reinforces her belief in the importance of supporting her crew members however she can.
Working alongside her daughters and the next generation has also helped Purvi identify areas for growth in the business, such as optimizing digital technology.
It’s clear Purvi takes immense pride in what she does. We’re proud to work with franchisees like her. They are the heart of what we do.
