At McDonald’s, we care about the environment, and we care about each other. These truths are woven into all five of undefined, and we aim to demonstrate them every single day.
Last September, hundreds of members of our McFamily demonstrated Community and Family when they participated in Clean Up Day, an annual event in Switzerland that takes place nationwide. On that day, and on many others prior and since, McDonald’s Switzerland demonstrated our commitment to building a better environment for the future, and showed that we have a greater impact when we work together.
We demonstrated our commitment to building a better environment for the future, and showed that we have a greater impact when we work together.
On Clean Up Day 2019, our McFamily cleaned up more than 1,200 kg of litter across nine city events in Switzerland. In the name of McDonald’s, more than 700 people came together to fight against the key societal issue of littering, in addition to 55 local events held by Owner/Operators. McDonald’s Switzerland has been participating in Clean Up Days since 2001, but last year was the first time McDonald’s customers joined in on the efforts of franchisees, employees, suppliers and crew.
In total, 138 restaurants – or 80% of all McDonald’s restaurants in Switzerland – participated.
As McDonald’s Switzerland franchisee Kurt Dallmaier says, “It’s best to clean up with each other and protect the environment together.”
