Tackle dinner duty on your own schedule
November 08, 2018
We’ve heard breakfast is a great way to start the day. And sometimes, we love to eat it for dinner (that’s why we serve it all day long). But when it comes to our favorite meal, we know we’re not alone when we say it’s actually whenever we’re hungry — and even more so when our kids are. Hunger can strike at any time — breakfast, lunch, dinner or anytime in between.
Because let’s face it: It’s called “mealtime” for a reason. And kids don’t care where they pull up their booster seats. That’s why minivan meals are a thing. A common and understandable thing. In fact, according to a survey by Wakefield Research of parents in the United States, more than 20 percent of parents say their family eats as many or more meals in the car than at the dinner table.*
There’s no shame in that game. Our busy lives are all about time — making it, finding it and keeping it — and filling our bellies before the hangriness sets in.
We get it. By the time the weekend rolls around, 55 percent of us are over our kitchen and dining table fantasies. And we’re not surprised that many of us often only make it to Wednesday before deciding it’s not so important that we make our families’ meals ourselves, as long as we’re eating them together.
When we found out nearly three of five parents we talked to (58 percent) would sometimes rather put off errands — like going grocery shopping — than deal with the buckles, straps and clips of getting their kids in and out of the car, we said, “Yeah, same.”
That’s why McDonald’s is making drive-thru lines and car seat battles things of the past, at least when it comes to feeding our families. Thanks to features like Mobile Order & Pay† on the McDonald’s app and McDelivery on Uber Eats, meal prep now happens at the touch of a button.‡
With Mobile Order & Pay, you can order and pay through the McDonald’s app, then pick up your meal on your time. McDonald’s servers will even bring your order straight to your car when you select curbside pickup, so you can avoid the line and the car seat saga. Or you can avoid the restaurant scene altogether and have your favorite McDonald’s foods delivered to you via Uber Eats.
So for the nearly half of you (48 percent) who want to jump the line, do it. And for the one in five of you (22 percent) who would rather settle up just by checking in, you can ditch digging for your wallet — you can securely store your payment info for quick ordering.
Save your favorite orders. Save your payment info. Save time. Save the day.
Phoning in dinner duty never tasted so good.
