McDonald’s Is In: Company Steps Up with Leaders on Climate Action

As part of celebrating Earth Day, McDonald’s has joined the newly created Leaders’ Circle of We Are Still In, a multi-sector coalition of leaders committed to climate action. The 11-member Leaders’ Circle will take an active role in driving the coalition’s mission and new ‘We Are Taking Action’ campaign to encourage ambitious actions that mitigate climate change. These contributions will be included in a summary report from America’s Pledge on high-impact climate actions, slated to be released at the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco in September.

“At McDonald’s we are using our scale for good to make a difference for the planet, and are committed to collaborating with others to affect change beyond our company and industry,” said Francesca DeBiase, McDonald’s Chief Supply Chain and Sustainability Officer. “As a member of We Are Still In’s Leadership Circle, we look forward to inviting others on this journey.”

McDonald’s recently became the first restaurant company to take climate action and contribute through an approved Science Based Target.
