The word is out: McDonald’s is a top place to work.

The Chicago Tribune’s Top Workplaces 2019 report recently ranked McDonald’s Corporation as one of the top 25 large companies in Chicago. The report was based on employee survey data in areas of workplace culture, such as alignment, execution and connection.

We’re so proud that McDonald’s employees love working at our state-of-the-art headquarters in Chicago’s West Loop. McDonald’s hasn’t been in the nine-floor building for long – but since moving here from Oak Brook, Illinois, in summer 2018, we’ve only gotten better.

Job applications have increased 20%. We’re attracting candidates from top companies in Chicago and across the globe. And we’ve doubled our tech hires since the move – that’s critical as we focus on modernizing the way we operate.

(Did you hear about our recent Hackathon?)

Moving to Chicago has been a great decision for McDonald’s – and we’re all about giving back to the city. We sponsor events such as the Taste of Randolph street festival and the Chicago Marathon, actively support Ronald McDonald House Charities and Junior Achievement, and donate time and resources to a variety of local organizations. And at any given time, you’ll find Youth Opportunity events hosted at MHQ, which are helping to reduce barriers to employment for young people through pre-employment job readiness trainings and workplace development programs.
