Welcoming Pat Myers as our New Chief People Officer for McDonald’s USA
April 24, 2025
The following message was sent to the McDonald's USA System from Joe Erlinger and Tiffanie Boyd.
We’re excited to share that Pat Myers will be joining McDonald’s USA as our new Chief People Officer, effective May 19.
From the moment we began our conversations with Pat, it was clear that he is the right leader to take our U.S. People strategy into the future. His thoughtful insights, deep expertise, and strong alignment with our values stood out immediately—and only deepened as we learned more about his career and leadership style. We’re confident that Pat’s unique combination of strategic vision and operational know-how will be a tremendous asset to our system.
Pat brings a wealth of experience from roles at Medtronic, Target, Mars, and Kraft Heinz, where he led complex people strategies with a focus on building inclusive, high-performing cultures. His ability to connect the dots between big-picture talent strategy and meaningful, locally relevant execution makes him especially well-suited to lead at the size and scale of McDonald’s USA.
More than his impressive résumé, what resonated with us most was Pat’s passion for building people-first organizations and his clear commitment to creating environments where everyone can thrive. He brings a values-driven leadership approach that aligns closely with the culture we’re continuing to build—one grounded in care, opportunity, and belonging.
Pat will lead the continued transformation of the employee experience across both restaurant and corporate settings—focused on hiring, retention, development, and engagement for restaurant and corporate employees across the U.S. With his track record of driving culture change, scaling innovation, and championing frontline teams, we’re confident Pat will help us make McDonald’s an even stronger employer of choice in every community we serve.
Pat holds bachelor’s degrees in healthcare administration and biology from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. He currently resides in Minneapolis with his family and will be relocating to Chicago soon. Outside of work, he’s an active community member who enjoys coaching his kids’ baseball and soccer teams and volunteering for local philanthropy organizations. Learn more about Pat and what you can expect from him in his new role below.
With this news, we would also like to express our utmost gratitude to Jordann Nunn for her outstanding leadership as interim Chief People Officer of McDonald’s USA while transitioning into her role as Chief Field People Officer. She has guided us through a critical time, ensuring we maintained momentum around our key People initiatives, including the recent U.S deployment of Global People Modernization that is already delivering improved ways of working for US Employees and McOpCo staff. Her unwavering commitment to our values and her steady, purpose-driven leadership have made a lasting impact, and we are deeply appreciative for all her support during this time.
Please join us in thanking Jordann for her outstanding contributions, and welcoming Pat as he joins McDonald’s and the U.S. Senior Leadership and Global People Leadership Teams.
Joe Erlinger
President, McDonald’s USA
Tiffanie Boyd
EVP, Global Chief People Officer

Pat Myers joins McDonald's USA as Senior Vice President & Chief People Officer, effective May 19, 2025. In his role, he will oversee the company’s human resources operations in the U.S., including Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning & Development, Inclusion, Culture and Organization Effectiveness.
Here’s what you should know about Pat.

He’s passionate about connecting business strategy with people strategy.
He joins the McFamily from Medtronic, and nearly two decades leading in the consumer goods industry at iconic brands including Target, Mars, and Kraft Heinz. Throughout his career, he’s earned a strong reputation as a transformational leader—one who combines deep operational expertise with a collaborative, purpose- driven leadership style. He is especially skilled at building high-performing cultures and unlocking potential at every level of an organization.

He leads with a profound sense of responsibility to the community.
He believes an organization is only as strong as the community it serves and actively fosters a culture of giving back. His commitment goes beyond the workplace—he chairs his local Parent Group organization and volunteers with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and Feed the Community groups, turning his passion for service into everyday action.

He is a devoted Green Bay Packers fan,
having grown up in Wisconsin with a deep affection for the Midwest and treasured childhood memories rooting for the Packers. As a true Wisconsinite, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where he earned degrees in healthcare administration and biology. During football season, you can find Pat gathered around the TV with his family, enjoying cheese curds and proudly sporting green and yellow fan gear, a watch party that may turn “heated” when the Packers face off with the Chicago Bears!

He believes that open and honest feedback is crucial for personal growth and effective leadership.
He takes time to pause, reflect, and ask the tough questions: "What am I missing? What could I have done better?“ He views feedback not as a critique, but as a gift, and models this mindset for his team. Through this approach, he fosters a culture where continuous learning, humility, and growth are integral to the everyday rhythm.

He is excited to join McDonald's because…
for him, McDonald’s has always been more than a place to grab a bite. It’s where celebrations happen—big wins, little victories, and everything in between.
Growing up playing sports and now coaching his kids’ teams, McDonald’s has been his family's unofficial post-game HQ. His winning combo? A McChicken and chocolate shake. Now, stepping in to lead the people organization feels like a full-circle moment; it’s a chance to pour his passion for people and purpose into a place that’s meant so much to him—and to help keep the heartbeat of McDonald’s – its people – beating strong.
